Connect and Move: Fibromyalgia and Connective Tissue
What is Connect and Move: Fibromyalgia and Connective Tissue?
This is a specialized exercise program to address the needs of those who have fibromyalgia or connective tissues disorders. If you have fibromyalgia or connective tissue issues, you understand living with chronic pain and fatigue. Do you hesitate to take a walk or to be active because of the fear of pain and the impact on the day after? We understand that these are “invisible ” disabilities. But your pain is very real. And your fatigue is very real.
Respecting our bodies
We practice listening to our bodies. Respecting how our body feels today. Then we move within the limits of our “today body”. Building strength and endurance to break the cycle of pain. Gently and with purpose. Care being taken to assure we are not inflaming your joints or muscle. We take care to focus on proper movement techniques and how to protect our joints and soft tissue. Assuring you can perform tasks easier without stressing your body. Not only at the center, but also in your activities at home.
Support and encouragement
We are a supportive community. Hearing and understanding your daily journey. You may not be feeling your best today. But we will encourage to do your best for today. Importantly you are here, getting stronger and feeling better. Together we work to ease our pain and improve our daily function. Exercises can be done seated or stand with optional floor work. Adaptations and modifications will be available to meet individual needs.
