Functional Strength (50+)
Functional Strength is a group exercise program for adults 50+ to learn about functional movements to enhance overall strength, mobility, cardiovascular health, and flexibility. The movements utilized are functional- movements that you do each day! This program can help enhance your activities of daily living and overall health and wellbeing.
Who can participate:
Any adult age 50+ are invited to participate in Functional Strength.
This program will count towards the 3 specialized exercise class limit.
Financial assistance is available. No one will be denied participation due to financial concerns.
Eligibility and Criteria:
- Designed for individuals of all abilities 50+
- Individuals in this program must be able to participate independently with direction from the lead facilitator.
- If individuals need 1:1 assistance, a mentor or care partner must attend and assist the individual at the program. If you need assistance finding support, please contact STAR. We may have 1:1 mentors available.
- Participants will be held to the STAR Center Code of Conduct.
What to bring:
- Water bottle
- Sweat towel
- Comfortable clothing
- Shoes suitable for activity
The STAR Center provides all equipment necessary for each program.
