Fun, healthy, recreational, and competitive opportunities for individuals with physical challenges and blind or visual impairments. Individuals may ambulate independently or use assistive devices or wheelchairs (manual or power). If joint issues, balance or muscle weakness of the lower extremities make it difficult for you to participate,
Para / Wheelchair programs may be a good fit. Participants do not need to be community wheelchair users to participate. Although we frequently use sport wheelchairs to accommodate for impaired lower extremity function, there are options for stand up sports and recreation. STAR provides sports wheelchairs, race wheelchairs, frame runners, sled hockey sleds and all protective equipment. Additional adaptive equipment is available. You do not have to purchase your own equipment to participate.
