Specialized Exercise Programs
Our Specialized Exercise Programs are designed to address the challenges specific to different diseases and disabilities. These programs are based on therapeutic exercises that have been shown to improve function in addition to cardio, strength and flexibility. With all of our programs we are able to adapt to your specific physical abilities. Our community based assistive exercise programs provide individual assistance if needed—just let us know you need a mentor.
Adaptive Recreation Programs
Adaptive Sports and Recreation Programs are designed for individuals who have difficulty in traditional recreation programs due to muscle coordination issues, low muscle tone, learning disabilities, or intellectual disabilities. If you need extra assistance to learn a new skill or to learn the rules of a game, these programs are a great fit. Participants may or may not have a physical disability. STAR Center will adapt to allow you to participate fully in each program. If you need individual assistance we can provide a mentor for you.
Para Sports and Recreation Programs
Fun, healthy, recreational, and competitive opportunities for individuals with physical challenges and blind or visual impairments. Individuals may ambulate independently or use assistive devices or wheelchairs (manual or power). Participants do not need to be community wheelchair users to participate. STAR Center provides all adaptive equipment.
Who we serve

We serve people with disabilities, chronic conditions, or those recovering from strokes and accidents. The STAR Center offers a variety of all-inclusive programs, allowing community members to benefit through participation. Every individual will have the opportunity to choose what type of programming—community-based assistive exercise, adaptive programming, inclusion programming, or traditional programming—best suits their needs.
