New this winter- STAR will begin offering wheelchair badminton. Learning this sport will allow you to play alongside your family and friends.
New this winter- STAR will begin offering Boccia, inclusive and adaptive bocce ball. Boccia was developed for wheelchair users and is a competitive Paralympic sport. This program is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
Avoid the snow and get moving with us this winter! STAR will be running the fast paced and competitive wheelchair basketball program for another season.
Whether you are trying something new or participating in a lifelong hobby, boxing is sure to be tons of fun. This program will follow Rock Steady Boxing curriculum and will assist individuals with PD in developing strength, agility, balance, and decrease rigidity and tone.
The Coulee Region Frost Sled Hockey team is back for another season! This program is for those with physical disabilities or balance issues that prevent them from playing stand up hockey.
New this fall/winter- STAR will begin offering an adaptive and para music class. This program will follow the Drums Alive curriculum and be taught by a certified instructor. Elements of this class include drumming, boomwhackers, rhythm work, and vocalization.
No music experience is necessary. This program will follow Drums Alive curriculum and will include cardio drumming, boomwhackers, rhythm work, and voice activation in order to challenge the cognitive and vocal symptoms associated with Parkinson’s Disease.
Keep Moving PD Exercise is an exercise class designed specifically to address the common symptoms associated with Parkinon’s Disease, including rigidity, tone, balance, posture, and gait. This program will include PWR! Moves and other PD specific exercises.
