Functional Strength (50+)

Functional Strength is a group exercise program for adults 50+ to learn about functional movements to enhance overall strength, mobility, cardiovascular health, and flexibility. The movements utilized are functional- movements that you do each day! This program can help enhance your activities of daily living and overall health and wellbeing.

Who can participate:

Any adult age 50+ are invited to participate in Functional Strength.

Scholarships are available. No one will be denied participation due to financial concerns.

Veterans with a disability are able to participate in STAR programs for free.

What to bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Sweat towel
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Shoes suitable for activity
  • Care partners are welcome to attend and participate with you, at no extra cost

The STAR Center provides all equipment necessary for each program.

Social and refreshment time

Social and refreshment time will follow each of our sessions. This is an opportunity for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and their Care Partners to talk with one another and build a community.

COVID-19 disclaimer

The STAR Association follows CDC, State and County Health Department recommendations for COVID Mitigation. We recommend that all who are eligible to get a vaccine to do so. Masks, social distancing and proper hand washing will be required at all STAR programs.
