DESCRIPTION:Who can participate:\nIndividuals 12+ are able to participate in this program. Anyone who has a mobility or cognitive challenge that makes participation in traditional programming difficult. This program is co-ed. \n\nMotor dyspraxia\nSensory integration challenges\nBalance challenges\nMotor programming challenges\nDown Syndrome\nAutism Spectrum\nLearning disabilities\nCognitive impairments\nLow muscle tone\nOther congenital syndromes\n\nIndividuals with physical disabilities can also participate if desired. Individuals may ambulate independently\, or use assistive devices\, or wheelchairs. \nEligibility and Criteria: \n\n12+\, co-ed\nDesigned for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities\nParticipants must be able to follow directions from the lead facilitator.\n\nIf participants need assistance with following directions\, a support staff must attend and assist the individual at the program. If you need assistance finding support\, please contact STAR. We may have 1:1 mentors available.\n\n\nParticipants will be held to the STAR Center Code of Conduct.\n\nWhat to bring:\n\nWater bottle\nDress to move\nComfortable shoes for movement\nSun protection\nSun screen and bug spray\nParents\, respite care providers\, and care partners are welcome to attend\n\n1-1 mentors\nPlease contact the STAR Center if you will need a 1-1 mentor.
