This program is co-ed. \n\nMotor dyspraxia\nSensory integration challenges\nBalance challenges\nMotor programming challenges\nDown Syndrome\nAutism Spectrum\nLearning disabilities\nCognitive impairments\nLow muscle tone\nOther congenital syndromes\n\nIndividuals with physical disabilities can also participate if desired. Individuals may ambulate independently\, or use assistive devices\, or wheelchairs. \nScholarships are available. The keep moving\, lower intensity exercise program is specifically for those with more progressive symptoms. Individuals who use assistive devices or use wheelchairs will find this an appropriate class. Most of our exercises will be preformed while seated\, or standing with assistive devices. \nScholarships are available. The keep moving\, lower intensity exercise program is specifically for those with more progressive symptoms. Individuals who use assistive devices or use wheelchairs will find this an appropriate class. Most of our exercises will be preformed while seated\, or standing with assistive devices. \nScholarships are available. SUMMARY:"Can't Stop Me" Parkinson's Program- Keep Moving\, Lower Intensity Exercise
DESCRIPTION:Who can participate:\nAll individuals with Parkinson’s Disease regardless of age and disease progression. Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease looking to improve their tone\, rigidity\, and overall function and slow disease progression. The keep moving\, lower intensity exercise program is specifically for those with more progressive symptoms. Individuals who use assistive devices or use wheelchairs will find this an appropriate class. Most of our exercises will be preformed while seated\, or standing with assistive devices. \nScholarships are available. No one will be denied participation due to financial concerns. \nVeterans with a disability are able to participate in STAR programs for free. \nWhat to bring:\n\nWater bottle\nSweat towel\nComfortable clothing\nShoes suitable for activity\nCare partners are welcome to attend and participate with you\, at no extra cost\n\nThe STAR Center provides all equipment necessary for each program. \nSocial and refreshment time\nSocial and refreshment time will follow each of our sessions. This is an opportunity for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and their Care Partners to talk with one another and build a community. \nCOVID-19 disclaimer\nThe STAR Association follows CDC\, State and County Health Department recommendations for COVID Mitigation. Anyone who has a mobility or cognitive challenge that makes participation in traditional programming difficult. This program is co-ed. \n\nMotor dyspraxia\nSensory integration challenges\nBalance challenges\nMotor programming challenges\nDown Syndrome\nAutism Spectrum\nLearning disabilities\nCognitive impairments\nLow muscle tone\nOther congenital syndromes\n\nIndividuals with physical disabilities can also participate if desired. Individuals may ambulate independently\, or use assistive devices\, or wheelchairs. \nScholarships are available. No one will be denied participation due to financial concerns. \nVeterans with a disability are able to participate in STAR programs for free. \nWhat to bring:\n\nWater bottle\nDress to move\nComfortable shoes for movement\nParents\, respite care providers\, and care partners are welcome to attend.\n\n1-1 mentors\nPlease contact the STAR Center if you will need a 1-1 mentor.
