SUMMARY:Middle School Adaptive Kickball
DESCRIPTION:Who can participate:\nYouth\, grades 6th-8th. Anyone who has a mobility or cognitive challenge that makes participation in traditional programming difficult. This program is co-ed. \n\nMotor dyspraxia\nSensory integration challenges\nBalance challenges\nMotor programming challenges\nDown Syndrome\nAutism Spectrum\nLearning disabilities\nCognitive impairments\nLow muscle tone\nOther congenital syndromes\n\nIndividuals with physical disabilities can also participate if desired. Individuals may ambulate independently\, or use assistive devices\, or wheelchairs. \nScholarships are available. No one will be denied participation due to financial concerns. \nWhat to bring:\n\nWater bottle\nSweat towel\nComfortable clothing\nShoes suitable for activity\nParents and respite care providers are welcome to attend.\n\nThe STAR Center provides all equipment necessary for each program. \n1-1 mentors\nPlease contact the STAR Center if you will need a 1-1 mentor. We will do our best to find you a mentor\, but we can not guarantee at this time. Respite care providers and other service mentors are welcome to attend with you. \nCOVID-19 disclaimer\nThe STAR Association follows CDC\, State and County Health Department recommendations for COVID Mitigation. We recommend that all who are eligible to get a vaccine to do so.
