DESCRIPTION:Who can participate:\nCurrent grades K-5. Special consideration given to middle school students. Anyone who has a mobility or cognitive challenge that makes participation in traditional programming difficult. This program is co-ed. \n\nMotor dyspraxia\nSensory integration challenges\nBalance challenges\nMotor programming challenges\nDown Syndrome\nAutism Spectrum\nLearning disabilities\nCognitive impairments\nLow muscle tone\nOther congenital syndromes\n\nIndividuals with physical disabilities can also participate if desired. Individuals may ambulate independently\, or use assistive devices\, or wheelchairs. \nFinancial assistance is available. No one will be denied participation due to financial concerns. \nWhat to bring:\n\nWater bottle\nComfortable clothes shoes for movement\nSun protection\nSun screen and bug spray\nParents\, respite care providers\, and care partners are welcome to attend\n\n1-1 mentors\nPlease contact the STAR Center if you will need a 1-1 mentor. We will do our best to find you a mentor\, but we can not guarantee at this time. Respite care providers and other service mentors are welcome to attend with you. \nThe STAR Center provides all equipment necessary for each program. \nQuestions? info@starcenterlacrosse.org or 608-797-6295 \nIn case of inclement weather\, the STAR Association reserves the right to cancel a session. Anyone who has a mobility or cognitive challenge that makes participation in traditional programming difficult. Individuals may ambulate independently\, or use assistive devices\, or wheelchairs. \nEligibility and Criteria: \n\n12+\, co-ed\nDesigned for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities\nParticipants must be able to follow directions from the lead facilitator.\n\nIf participants need assistance with following directions\, a support staff must attend and assist the individual at the program. If you need assistance finding support\, please contact STAR.
